SideStreets Episode 7 - Tavistock Square

Welcome to episode 7 of SideStreets. In today's episode we dive deep into the topic of public memorials. Why they are meant to remind us of the significance, maybe even the greatness, of certain people or events, but most of us, most of the time, pay no attention to them. We do this through a historic journey through Tavistock Square, a square which isn't one of London's better known squares, nor are its art and architecture intrinsically powerful or challenging. But it has dissonances and harmonies between the monuments, their surroundings, and the story of the neighbourhood irresistibly complex and in the end, quite moving.
